Threading calm, connection, and community

Many adults face changes in life circumstances that can disrupt routine, confidence, and sense of identity. These can be related to health problems, the end of a relationship, shifts in work or employment, caring responsibilities, relocation, or other major transitions. These disruptions can leave people feeling disconnected and unsure of how to move forward.

It was exactly what happened me.

After a long period of illness, I found myself completely isolated and had no idea how to move forward. That was when the idea to create this project came up - to help people who were struggling, just like I was.

Lady Stitch is my response to the need of a safe space that combines creativity and community, where kindness is the glue that bonds us together.

The results have far exceeded my expectations: I have seen people regain confidence, improve their self-esteem and health. Some attendees have been able to go back to full time employment, one has joined our board of directors, another has become a volunteer at Lady Stitch and others started their own embroidery journey.

Through Lady Stitch friendships have been formed, and it is a joy to see the community organically expanding.

I have been awarded grants from Islington Council, whom I can’t thank enough for their help, support and mentoring.

More recently, I have been selected by CatalyseHer, a program designed for early-stage founders building businesses with a social and environmental impact in the UK. This program is supported by Visa Foundation.

Be part of this beautiful community!
